We started making ceramic, granitic and  metallic cats Within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, in the village of West Burton in Wensleydale the Nichols family has been making Moorside Cats since 1982. Always cats, summer and winter, in this tranquil, picturesque place with its magnificent village Green and its hidden waterfall. Here two generations-people and cats have been involved in the business : Shirley and Barrie Nichols and daughter Sarah alongside the family cats Chloe,Orlando,Zoe, Millie and Tilda, and newcomers Ruby,Alfie and Sophie who have all been models for the ceramic,metallic and granitic garden cats. Moorside Cats are available exclusively at The Cat Pottery, Moorside Design in West Burton and also through Mail Order by Telephone, Fax and Online. All orders are dealt with immediately and usually despatched within 72 hours by 1st class letter post or courier for the smaller cats and by our carrier ANC/FEDEX (whom we have been using for over 20 years). for the larger garden cats weighing up to 10 kg and more. Prices quoted are carriage paid. Moorside Design, in the village of West Burton, Wensleydale is the family run business of Shirley and Barrie Nichols and daughter Sarah who have been designing and making ceramic cats since 1982 and since the 90's designing metallic and stone garden cats as well. Shirley and Sarah both studied sculpture, Sarah at Edinburgh College of Art and Shirley at Leeds and the Slade School of Fine Art, University College, London. With a combined 11 years of professional training plus many years of practising the art and craft of the sculptor, the Moorside Cat is instantly recognizable as one of the better examples of cat sculpture

New Grounds, one of the first completely non-toxic print workshops in the country, was established by its director Regina Held in 1996 after she received her MFA in printmaking from the University of New Mexico. The award-winning print workshop was first operated out of a small, private building in Albuquerque's rural South Valley. In March 2000  New Grounds moved to its current location in historic Nob Hill, one of Albuquerque's premier shopping and dining areas. During another expansion in 2002, a separate gallery and classroom were added to complete the 4000 square foot facility. With six hand-operated etching presses, New Grounds matches, and even surpasses, the number of printing presses available in many university printmaking departments. We are dedicated to providing artists with a professional, informative, safer and well-equipped environment for the creation of fine prints while promoting the artists and exhibiting their work. Art Creations Africa has grown to become one of Africa's largest exporters of African Shona stone sculpture over the past 19 years. Promoting first, second, third generation, young and up coming stone sculptors from Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Mozambique, work on or near the Great Dyke from which the beautiful fine grained stone boulders are removed. The stones are known as springstone, opaline, verdite, serpentine and other amazing beautifully coloured stones. Art Creations Africa buys all their stone sculptures from sculptors sculpting in Zimbabwe. The majority of the sculptors are Zimbabwean. All Art Creation Africa's Zimbabwean sculptures are displayed on the Internet and many can be viewed at various exhibitions through out the world. The primary objectives of  Art Creations Africa  are to expose, offer, educate, inform art collectors and prospective art lovers on the history and background of the now famous and world acclaimed hand carved beautiful hard stone sculptures from Zimbabwe. Maximises the sale and marketing of these beautiful stone sculpture to the tourist industry, international art markets, art collectors through local and international exhibitions through our informative and educational website. The art movement was known as "Shona Sculpture" in the beginning; however, it has matured into an art movement where sculptors from many countries are now working in Zimbabwe. The sculptures may follow many themes or forms; the themes can be African, realistic, metamorphic or spiritual. The new generation of artists' sculptures are mainly abstract and realistic. It should be remembered that sculpting in this manner means this form of art is the only movement left in the world where stone sculpture is created using only a hammer and chisel. International and local exhibitions are regularly held at which at least 30 African stone sculptures are exhibited. These exhibitions can be found in leading 5 star hotels, guesthouses, wine estates and art galleries. Art Creations Africa supports all of the sculptors working in and around Zimbabwe, whether they are Zimbabwean or from a neighboring country, through the sales and marketing of stone sculptures, using our network of exhibitions and the Internet. Art Creations Africa's primary objective is to improve the lives and living standards of the sculptors and their immediate families, even extended family. To see that which untrained, untaught sculptors achieve using only a piece of rough stone extracted from the great dyke, using only a hammer, chisel and a file ending up creating a masterpiece, through the use of ancient forgotten techniques, owners of a stone sculpture from Zimbabwe are the richer with either a stone abstract or torso or a creation of their mind in their procession to mention but a few.
